Looking to add to my experience, I set out to start a marketing agency. After assembling a small team, we landed a restaurant client looking to open a gamer-centric restaurant. With a Buffalo-Wild-Wings feel, they wanted to create a trendy space for gamers with plenty of gamer references in the restaurant and the menu. Our marketing team set out to create a brand strategy and marketing plan for its website and social channels to promote its grand opening.
We set out to create marketing plans and timelines to prepare for TwitchCon—a massive gaming event taking place in Downtown Long Beach where the restaurant was set to open. Plans were laid out with a fleshed-out themed menu, decor designs, and potential influencer visitors as elements of success. Here, I learned how to manage a small team, create schedules and timelines, and utilize our strengths as a team.
Ultimately, we ended out efforts as we collectively agreed that this enterprise required an even larger commitment of time that was just not possible for everyone. It was nonetheless a great experience.
